Can anyone tell me the advantages of Kobo over Kindle, Nook, etc.? I really don’t know much about it.

Kobo’s good for Canadian readers, because it’s based in Canada and they sell in Canadian dollars. (I bought a book or two from them once, and was surprised to see a currency-exchange fee show up on my credit card bill.) They sell a reader that’s a lot like the Kindle and Nook, and I imagine that reader probably connects directly to the Kobo store.
