(p.s. Is “maestro” the right word for a pianist?)

Gould got into trouble when he played Brahms. When he did the first concerto with Bernstein and the NY Phil, he was widely criticized (including by Lenny) for playing the thing too damn slow.

He marched to his own drummer. The tempo on the intermezzo sounds right to me.
